This is a great way to spend the first afternoon on
the boat. Take a leisurely sail to Buck Island, pick up a FREE
DAY USE mooring and swim with some sea turtles, watching (and
hearing!) them munch on the plentiful sea grasses. Also some small
reef areas close to shore with limited fish viewing. You might
have this place all to yourself by mid afternoon. Then head for
Christmas cove, in the lee of Great St. James Island. Great Snorkeling
at the rocks near the southern tip of the island, and a beautifully
sheltered anchorage for a first night's stay. Don't go between
the small Fish Cay and the shore, and not too close to the ferry
traffic route through Current Cut either. Anywhere else should
be comfy. Break out the rum drinks!
